General comments: fishing very slow at first probabiy due to weather but in the end everybody caught fish had a good holiday. Good barbeques and Alex top bloke! Cheers.

General comments: CAME INTO QUITE A DIFFICULT WEEK AS THERE HAD BEEN A COLD SNAP SO FISHING WAS A LITTLE SLOW TO START.COUPLED WITH THIS A COUPLE OF ANGLERS TRIED A HEAVY BAITING APPROACH THAT SEEMED TO SLOW THE FISHING SOMEWHAT.AFTER A CHANGE IN MY OWN BAITING STRATEGY MY RESULTS PICKED UP AS THE WEEK WENT ON AND THE BETTER FISH CAME FROM WEDNESDAY ON. ALEX IS A MINEFIELD OF KNOWLEDGE AND COUPLED WITH MY OWN ABILITY I WENT AWAY WITH 3 PERSONAL BESTS AND A VERY MEMORABLE HOLIDAY. GOING BACK NEXT YEAR FOR ONE OF THE BIG GIRLS!!!

Brief details of your catches: We caught easily 40 fish between us ranging from 10lb to 35lb. Biggest being a 35.2 lb mirror, aslo caught 6 sturgeon. Lost over 30 fish due to hooks being too small, would advise size 4 at least.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Bait boat to the far bank, Alex the owner will point out the best spots if you are in trouble. Also the bait we used was the nash b2's which worked really well.

General comments: Arrived on lake and was very picturesque, very well looked after. Alex (the owner) is a fantastic fella. I took all my cooking equipment which wasn't needed as their is a caravan their for all anglers to use with toaster, kettle, 2 hobs, microwave, tele video and dvd, washing up facilities and equipment included. Has well looked after showers. Was impressed with the lake and Alex and will be booking again for April. Big thanks to Alex for looking after us.

Brief details of your catches: Well what a week we had... over 80 fish on the bank, 5 x thirties to 36lb, 36 x twenty’s, 3 cats a 48lb, 52lb, 58lb and sturgeon for 18lb to 28lb, the rest were made up of mid to upper doubles, we as so had some single but these we never counted we just put them straight back.There was four of us in our party we fished pegs 2,3,4 and 5 pegs.. 3,4 and 5 seemed to be the most consistent and is where nearly all our better fish came from. The fish were very soft mouthed and we did loose allot of fish due to hook pulls at the beginning of the week, but after some advice from Alex the owner we upped our hook size and stared putting nearly all the fish on the bank, I would recommend soft rods and large hooks if anyone is thinking of giving the place ago, if we had banked all the fish we hooked we would have had well over 120 fish and considering only two of us night fished I think we did ok.Alex the owner is very helpful and friendly, he lives on site so if you need to know anything about the fishing or the surrounding area all you need to do is ask. The only thing in my opinion that lets it down a little is the size of the lake, it’s advertised as having five swims but if I am honest and if you like your own space I would only take 3 anglers as pegs 1 and 2 are in shallow water and seem to hold allot of the smaller fish.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: We used mainly the saurse but tryed lots of other baits and they all caught so as long as you use good quality bait i dont think your go wrong

Brief details of your catches: Had a great week, , the four of us had over 80 fish between us, and if we had landed all the fish we had hooked we would have had well over 100 fish. The fish were made up of some really nice Sturgeon from 18lb to 28lb, that pulled your arms off. 5 cats from mid 40's topped off with a 58lb and some lovely carp...5 x 30's, over 40 x 20's and the rest were made up of good doubles and a few singles.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: We fished pegs 2,3,4 and 5. Pegs 3,4 and 5 seemed to do the best as they had slightly deeper water but you will catch anywhere on this lake. As for bait and tactics, we used source boilies but i believe you will catch on any good quality bait. Tactics, keep it simple, fish to the far margins and play the fish soft as they have very soft mouths.

General comments: The fishing certainly kept us busy but we weren't able to catch the bigger fish. Alex & family looked after us well & the accommodation was fine. An excellent place for first-timers & a sociable way of fishing.

Brief details of your catches: We caught 110 fish between us with a top weight of 33.5lb. The fish are in beautiful condition and include cats, sturgeon, mirrors, commons and Grass. Our total weight for the week was 1462lb of fish. This without doubt was the best weeks fishing of my life. The venue is well stocked and really is a runs water.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: We tried various tactics and all worked well. Mainly we fished to the far bank under the tree canopy with a bed of pellet and boilie and a hair rigged snowman presentation. I also fished to a marker which I replenished with pellet and particle every six hours or so. This tactic rewarded me with my first ever cat and sturgeon.

General comments: This was my first trip to France and I was delighted. The venue offers everything I wanted and I will be returning later this year. Ideally suited for youngsters as well. A very safe and pleasant environment.
