Brief details of your catches: 65 carp for the week, fishing just daytimes only!!! The noticeable fish was three 30lb carp with the biggest going 31LB (PB). Included in the catch was 15 fish over 20lbs with commons to 23lb 8oz and mirrors to 31lb.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Balanced bottom baits, either boilie or pellet, and feed basically on a little and often basis over pellet. PVA bags scored especially well over a bed of pellets.

Were the facilities what you expected? Unbelieveable, possibly the best in France.

Were you happy with them? Cannot praise them high enough

Would you recommend the venue to a friend? Yes, definately, and already have.

General comments: This was my first trip to France. During the trip which was designed to be a social holiday and have time to spend looking around the area. Even with this, I managed to catch a total of 65 carp during the week. Bletiere must be the ulimate runs water and ideal for a family or couples holiday with brilliant facilities in the available gite and a very pretty well looked after lake. All the fish caught was in first class condition and I can only describe the venue as feeling like fishing an exclusive private estate lake. I cannot thank the owners John and Leslie enough John for his fishing suggestions and help and most of all to Leslie for her cooking which must be classed as top food by any standards. The nearby village has a great and friendly bar and everywhere we went we felt welcomed. Really suggest Bletiere to any angler with a family including children or for someone looking for a runs water whilst wanting top class facilities. Make use of the Gite, there is no need to spend all night fishing, 65 carp in the week fishing part days say it all. The water will make you think and will reward any angler who works it out (especially if you listen to John). PS word of warning I think I have put a stone of weight on, eating all Leslie's brilliant meals. PS booking for next year

General comments: Although the weather and temperature was very changeable it didnt stop some fantastic action these fish fight like tigers be prepared for some screaming runs and frantic action, I lost at least 5 big carp by being to eager to land the fish, just when you think they are beaten they strip more line out, patience is the key

General comments: Weather very changeable with the last few nights turning cold. Most runs were at night. John & Lesley very friendly and helpfull. will be back next year for the bigger carp

General comments: John and Lesley were great hosts. John was always on hand to give advice about tactics and Lesley supplied us with bacon rolls which were delicious!! An idyllic setting with great facililities.... we will definitely be back later in the year.

General comments: I have been over to see John a couple of times now and the lake is looking really healthy. Although I am a personal friend and you would expect me to say complimentary things about both John and Lesley, and the lake, I have to say that for a complete novice to catch three big carp in a couple of hours only, and the guys who booked with you caught around 40 in the couple of days they were there, that says all that needs to be said.

Brief details of your catches: You have to remember these fish were spawing and we still had: 15lb to -20lb x 19...... 20lb to 27lb x 24 ......... + 4 x 30's to 32.14.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Basicly PVA bags worked very well with pellets, Quest pineapple crush boilies, crushed and whole. Bait boating, hemp and corn also worked very well.

General comments: Lesley and John, and Wispa their dog, were very welcoming here, nothing was too much trouble for their guests, whatever your need. The venue is breathtaking and as for the fishing, just two words... bloody awsome! the carp here fight like stink, as if they were on steroids! they just don't know when to give in. All fish are in great condition and I just can't wait to get the opportunity to get back out there again. It was a very memorable experience. Thanks again.

General comments: The weather was a cold easterly wind with rain. However I managed to catch 2 carp over 30lbs with help of John the owner. Bletiere is a lovely water to fish. John & Lesley hospitality was of a high stanadrd throughout my stay.
