General comments: As we were staying for two weeks, we were not amused when Medi told us we would be expected to vacate our swim on Saturday and re- draw for our second week. After a lot of discussion and bad feelings this did not happen. But for future reference this should be made clear to all persons staying for more than 1 week. No angler should be compelled to vacate his swim unless he wishes to do so. If I had been aware of this I would not have gone and would not go again if I thought this may happen. A lovely venue and a wonderful holiday. **** NOTE FROM ANGLING LINES***** On any venue where a peg draw normally takes place an angler staying for 2 weeks should not expect to keep the same swim. If the owner allowed this it simply would not be fair to the new anglers arriving. It may be that the new anglers are happy for the 2 week anglers to keep their swim ... but this cannot be assumed and if required you will have to enter the peg draw. This is the only fair way.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits:  Fish were ready for spawning they were sitting in the little bays so the people in those swims were catching really well. We were fishing right out into open water. Unfortunatly all the swmis were taken so we couldn't move.

General comments: This is not a 'runs' water but the chance of a big fish. 40lb-70lb. Did not take bait boats but on arrival found out that you can use baitboats even if you do not book the lake exclusively. It would have made a difference to our catch as fish were at distance, (not prepared to pay baitboat hire £105 per week)Disappointing. Angling lines you should advise on this. Medhi great guy, overall a great week, will return for a'lump' ******* NOTE FROM ANGLING LINES ******* Baitboats are NOT allowed on Laroussi unless the lake is booked exclusively. There have been some instances in the past where this has not been the case but Mehdi (the owner) tells us that from now on this is DEFINITELY the case.

General comments: Mehdi was,again , a great host. Weather conditions were changeable, rain sleet and strong winds.But we all had a great time with big fish all round !!

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: We found small beds of Quest special crab and liver B8 10mm boiles did the trick.

General comments: Medhi was a fantastic host and was very welcoming. Although a very cold week some excellent fish on the bank.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Small baiting tactics, groundbait and partiblend in conjunction of small pva bags. Short hook lenght , barbless hook N°6 and 8.

General comments: Mehdi was a great host. Darran and Denis smashed Pb's with every fish landed just about. Difficult weather conditions. Fish feed in short spells.The 3 of us enjoyed the place immensely and definitely coming back next year. Fish were in mint condition. Mehdi comments : 7 good forties , 1 fifty and some lovely thirties for the smallest carp in march ! Well done, Top Irish angling. Superb dark fish. Excellent weight average.

Brief details of your catches: we caught 4 big sturgeon and one carp to 35lb

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: we used boiles for the sturgeon but i think they take most baits and thourgly enjoy the fight that these big sturgeon give you. and the carp was caught on bread crumb dynamite stick with a boilie crush combination all fish caught on richworth tutti frutti

Were the facilities what you expected? cool and clean goes the time of year

Were you happy with them? yes and good to see mehdi hope his son is ok after his illness

General comments: we had a great time although fishing was slow. the sturgeon fight like its for there life and boy doews it give you a bad back. we did get alot of pickups and i think this may have something to do with the resident koi pu's. come on mehdi last time you had out your traps. although mehdi's son has been rather ill and we but the koi pu's down to this, as we have been three times and only seen the odd one last time. anyway thanks for all your help as ever and sorry about the delay with the photos are kev had them on his camera. thankyou doug
