Brief details of your catches: Caught over 1000lb of carp, sturgeon and cats: CARP: 1 x 41.0, 6 x 30's, 20 x 20's, plus doubles and 2 singles. STURGEON: 37.0, there is only one in the lake and we caught him 16 times. If he's feeding he really likes his food. We even caught him 3 times in 12 hours. He fights like Tyson. CAT: Only had 1 on the bank 16.4. Lost 4.... please note we were using heavier gear than our carp tackle for these as that wasn't enough. The owner will help you with live baits for these monsters as they go to over 120lb.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Quest Baits

General comments: We had a great time. Maps and directions to lake could be better. Some might find it easier to buy a good map.. AA or RAC.

General comments: Good fishing but it was infested with rats. In cat lake too many sunken trees which need clearing, lost 2 big fish in them.

Brief details of your catches: Our second visit, full of optimism after last years superb catch was shattered with only 6 decent carp, 22 - 41lb taken during the week, due we think, to high temperature and North easterly winds. Some small carp and cats from the cat lake. £ large cats (est 60lb+) lost in snags even though 25lb line was used.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Tried everything: Bottom and popped up boilies, B%, source, activate, monster crab and even sweetcorn. The baits that did catch were double halibut pellet and Quest

Were the facilities what you expected? same

Were you happy with them? No, the new cooker has no grill therefore a toaster would be useful. Right hand gas ring goes out. Many plates and cups were chipped/cracked.

General comments: We had bad luck, but this is an excellent fishery. The accomodation would not suit a fussy partner.

Brief details of your catches: 1,220 lb of fish over the seven days fished. All 5 anglers achieved personal bests highlights of which were Catfish 50lb, Common Carp 42lb 2oz, Sturgeon 35lb, Grass Carp 39lb 8oz and a total of 17 carp over 30lb.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Baits = Mainline 'The Cell' and Dynamite 'Tiger Nut' Boilies fished over small areas of pellets and a smattering of boilies - about 500g per angler per day, kept fish coming steadily through a week of changeable weather. Fish moved around and tended to avoid areas that were over-fed. Most fish though, were taken from along the far bank margins.

General comments: Morgane Lakes is a very special place - All of our party were absolutely delighted by the high quality of the fishing and the condition of all of the fish we caught. It provided us all the chance to catch the fish of our dreams! We are all saving to return just as soon as we can. Endorsement indeed of a wonderful fishery. The red wine wasn't bad either!

General comments: We had a wonderful time the weather and the fishing were great. The mobile home is good. I am not a fisherman that spends his whole week in the bivvy so the accommodation was welcome. Laurent is very good. Ammenities are close by, so all in all an excellent venue

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Quest Tiger Nut crunch boilies with small amounts of pellet and tiger nuts.Pop up tiger nuts again with pellet.You don't need to use to much bait, plus back leads or slack lines will help.

General comments: We found it quite tough going all week. The weather was quite hot with some rain. Plus some of the mirrors we're on the verge of spawning, and there we're a few fishing spawning in the margins on the far bank.Unfortunately one of our party went down with pneumonia half way through the week so spent most of the time going to the hospital in Angers to visit. The lake is perfect for small parties of 2 or 3.

Brief details of your catches: 25 Fish in total. This was made up of 18 carp, 3 tench and the sturgeon 4 times (We hooked him 7 times in all!). The average size of carp was very good. Our Carp included one forty (40lb 9oz), three thirties, ten twenties, three doubles and one single. As in previous years we caught some small carp to low doubles, roach, rudd and skimmers from the cat lake on float tackle. No catfish this year.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: The majority of our fish came to small PVA bags of pellets fished with either popped up plastic sweetcorn or Essential Baits B5 boilie hookbaits.

General comments: Unfortunately our week was marred by poor weather right up until the day before we left. This certainly affected the fishing and speaking to Laurent this has been the case at the majority of venues in the area, but it is a risk when you travel to France at this time of year. Although we didn't catch as many fish as in previous years the average size was better. It just shows what a special venue Morgane is when you have the catch of fish that we had and yet still come away a little disappointed.

General comments: We were very happy with the facilities, the oven could do with a grill, and a chest freezer would be good. Although the first 2 days we had heavy rain, it did not stop the action. I would highly recommend taking a bait boat to reach the far bank.

General comments: Really enjoyed our stay. Laurent was sound! Weather could have been better. We got off to a slow start but once we got into the fish things picked up. Lake record achieved twice 2 x 50's. Lots of 30's and the sturgeon at 36lb 8oz. We would definitely go back! Many thanks
