What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Richworth Tutti Fruti in large lake, Quest Tiger nut crunch topped with 10mm Nash flouro pop up, snowman style in the small lake.

General comments: Before leaving for this trip to Roseau I checked with Angling Lines to see how many people were due to be on the lake, there was supposed to be only 4. On arrival we were disappointed to find out that the lake was already occupied and there were also an additional 7 people going to be joining us. The large lake can be very "peggy" with swims 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11 producing very well however at times swims 1 -6 being really slow. This was exactly the same last time I was at Roseau in May 07 although that time we were fortunate to draw swims 8 & 9. After 2 days of no real action in swims 5 & 6, and having tried vaious different combinations of baits, rigs, positioning tight to the island and mid water, large beds of bait and singles etc etc... we opted to move to the small lake. The catch rate went up and we rescued our trip. As we moved the guys from pegs 3 & 4 moved into the swims that we vacated but by the time we left to come home they had only caught one fish between them. Amazing really as the guy in swim 7 caught more than 40 fish in 2days !! My gripe is not that we drew the less productive swims as I understand that this is part and parcel of fishing however the 4 of us who booked through Angling Lines paid a lot more to be on this lake than the others who came direct therefore maybe it would have been fairer to allow us to draw prior to the "non Agling Lines customers" especially when you consider some swims were already occupied when we arrived.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: we found a bed of mixed pellet spod mix with a few added secrets and fishmeal boilies over the top with ethier a pva bag or a stringer was good,also just a bed of boilies with a spicey flavour to them worked just as well.we fished peg 7&9 tight to island and left hand margin,not many fish from mid water.

Were you happy with them? Not really,showers not bad,cafe and bar was never really open apart from 1 hour in morning and 1 hour at night.

General comments: Fishing was great,the best weeks fishing i've every had. If you put aside the facilities and the look of the place then it is exellent. Dont rent a bait boat they are rubbish(not microcats as on video). We just spoded out and it was just as good as them with boats even better in some cases. If you want non stop runs then this is the place!

General comments: I had the food package which was very good but I would not go for it again, purely because I spent too long away from the lake. Thank you for all your help & thanks to Christophe at Roseau.

General comments: The directions Angling lines gave us were hopeless, tomtom needed! The Venue is great not much fish through the night. We fished peg 6 and 10 early morning,around dinner and 6pm till 12pm it goes mad for fishing!

General comments: Lake was a bit untidy and drinks were a bit expensive but overall a good venue. Would go back for a confidence boost. Sat nav co-ordinates were spot on.

Brief details of your catches: I fished Peg 7 and caught 35 fish, biggest was 28lb and the smallest was around the 7lb mark, overall catching nearly 600lb. One sturgeon of 37lb.Peg 8 had 15 fish, biggest was 37lbPeg 9 had 13 fish, biggest was 35lb

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Peg 7 fished near the final stick on the mesh tunnel. Could have fished with a single rod, doesnt matter what bait used, i even caught off a water snail. Could not get the bait boat back before hooking a fish. Sturgeon Caught mid-water, aimed towards peg 6.Peg 8 caught the majority of fish mid water Peg 9 mid-water with a few coming from the right margin and tight to island.

General comments: The owner seems to know more English than he lets you think, and was sometimes late for breakfast and dinner. If you fish Pegs 7 - 10 or 6, watch out for the goats!!

Brief details of your catches: 30 x 30lb+ fish to 37lb. In total over 400 10lb+ carp, average weight 21lb. 5 sturgeon to 37lb.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: We caught fish on large boilies, small boilies, pop-ups, meat, sweetcorn & floating biscuit - anything basically. Some points close to the island produced very quickly. Margins were poor. Bites soon after cast or very limited. Almost no runs at night.

Were the facilities what you expected? Worse

Were you happy with them? Just. Showers were good but locked overnight till 09:30 which is irritating if you want to shower before breakfast. The whole place needs some cleaning up & a lot of ground maintenance.

General comments: Food package was disappointing for the money - which is a lot more than advertised on the website. The far bank needs work on the swims - too muddy & too far above the water. Generally excellent fishing, but the place needs some more love & attention. *** Note from Angling Lines. The food package price on the Website was correct at the start of the season when the exchange rate was 1.45 euros to the £. The exchange rate is now around 1.2 euros to the £. The rate fluctuates daily so we cannot continually update the price on the Website. However we do explain this on the Website. It says; "A complete food package (breakfast & evening meal) is available for £83 per person. If you book the food package you will be asked to pay a 10% deposit to Angling Lines and the balance to the lake when you arrive. Please note that due to fluctuations in the exchange rate the balance you pay when you arrive may not equate exactly to the remaining 90% in £’s sterling – it may be slightly more or less due to a change in the exchange rate." We also do tell customers how many Euros will be due. Hope this explains. We would NEVER deliberately mislead our customers on price.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Pretty much everything caught. Meat for the Sturgeon. 1st chuck in on meat Sturgeon within 15 mins.

General comments: My view is that for the amount of English who provide a very good living for the owner, he should put himself out and learn English to communicate. Also do more to look after the swims, roads etc. What a fabulous venue it is, with absolutely great fishing with real quality fish, but venue lacks a lot of TLC. Putting aside it's faults we intend to book for next year.

Were you happy with them? No maintenance to any area of swims or roads. Very rat infested.

General comments: In view of the amount of English who fish the venue the owner should put himself out to learn our language & do a hell of a lot more maintenance around the lakes and swims. All around the lakes there had been no maintenance done for quite some time only as you entered the venue. Only one toilet was left open a night with no light in it, shower did not work. The other shower was open from 9.30am to 6pm during the day. During that time no one was on site after breakfast & evening meal. Although we catered for ourselves, if anyone required any help no one was there to assist. The road leading to lake, some person had laid what can only be described as volcanic waste up to 4" diameter & had to lift my disabled trolley manually over to gain access to toilet. The grass area shown in the brochure between lakes is approx 8ft high in weeds & is rat infested & I mean rat infested. But all in all the fishing second to none & can only thank you for recommending it & will be back for more. (Angling Lines note) The venue has undoubtedly suffered this year regarding the availability of facilities and Christophes not living on site. These issues will be resolved and will will post a news bulletin for relevant changes at the end of the year.

Brief details of your catches: Between 3 anglers 137 carp banked!!!! 40 lost. Biggest 39lb 3oz for a total of 2,716lb of carp!!!!! Just fished 5 days came home thursday for a rest! All fish caught in daylight hours.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: halibut pellets and Quest rhaji spice boilies fished pva bags of small mixed pellets.recast every 15mins baits left in any longer wouldn't get picked up cast to rising fish and the takes are instant.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: we all fished with various baits and caught, i stuck to tigernut which seemed productive, my brother and mates used various boilies which were just as productive.we found using a baitboat either to the island or out to the centre of lake most productive although fish were caught everywhere. standard style safetey rigs were used by all of us no need to over complicate things.

General comments: we all enjoyed our stay at this venue.we never booked the food package and paid for evening meal at lodge we found the price of food & beer expensive. however theres a supermarket not to far away for cheaper ale & grub. the only other thing we think christophe should sort out is the drainage on far bank which we drawed, the night before we arrived there was a bad storm which caused the bank to be like mudbath,sureley he could do something about this.all in all we had a great time.

General comments: Had a fantastic time, want to go back!! The facilities are good. Weather was lovely right through to the last night when we had a storm. Heavy rain meant the clay bank was really sludgy. Made it hard to pack up, but you can't help the weather.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Bit of everything. Pineapple bolies, 20mm Halibut pellets. Hit and miss, fish were spawning.

Brief details of your catches: Carp to 49lb 4oz, sturgen to 40lb and grass carp to 23lb 7oz, 2 tench plus 11 bream up to 3lb. The only common to come are way was 25lb 4oz

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Spod mix to one area then both double and single hook baits with bags of may-be two or three free offerings. A lot of fish were caught close in may-be 20/30 yards out, basic rigs seemed to work well.

General comments: It was a very nice water and i'm sure if you hit it at the right time then you could have the time of your life, the only problem we had was the fish started to spawn which made them very hard to catch.

Were you happy with them? Ok ish. We did not realise that the new shower block was in use till the last two days - a sign would help.

General comments: Sadly we were driven off the water early due to threats from 10 other anglers. We were then verbally & physically abused by them! Many due to a disagreement over casting areas & then them being given a free bar!

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Single hookbaits wrappped in paste with pva bag of pellets to begin with. Found a couple of gravel areas 20-40 yrds out so baited these with partiblend/boilies and pellets and gradually moved our baits onto these.

General comments: Great food as usual - Christophe and Alene friendly as ever. Lake fishing a little slower than previous visits but I think we did ok in the end. It had been raining when we arrived and some of pegs were unfishable (11 & 12 in particular). Christophe needs to sort the swims out (pegs 2-6, and 11-14) and t
